Who we are

VeryPC is the controller of the personal data collected through this Backup Readiness Challenge / World Backup Day microsite. This notice explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you.

What we collect

If you play the challenge, we may process your game result, selected answers, IP address, and browser information to operate and protect the service. We may also use third-party service providers to monitor the availability, performance, and security of the microsite, which may involve processing technical data such as IP address, request metadata, browser or device information, and error information on our behalf. If you consent to marketing and tracking cookies, we may also collect analytics data about how you use the microsite, including pages viewed, session information, approximate location data derived from IP address, and device or browser characteristics. If you submit the follow-up form, we may also process your name, organisation, email address, phone number, approximate user or device count, and any message you provide.

How we use your information

We use this information to run the challenge, verify results, manage enquiries, respond to requests for a backup review, maintain the security and reliability of the microsite, monitor availability and performance, keep basic records of campaign activity, and, where you consent, measure engagement with the microsite and campaign performance. We do not sell your personal data.

Lawful basis

Where you ask us to contact you about backup and disaster recovery services, we process your information to take steps at your request and for our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries and promoting relevant services. We use essential technical data for the legitimate interests of running a secure and reliable service.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use essential cookies to operate the microsite and, where you consent, optional marketing and tracking cookies to understand use of the site and measure campaign performance. You can change cookie preferences at any time using the cookie preferences link in the footer.
